THIN PRINTER HAVING CUTOUT FOR MEDIUM ACCESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin stackable internet appliance printer. SOLUTION: The printer comprises a box type housing having size matching to that of conventional audio/video components and the printer can be stacked easily on other components. A base member supports a print bar and a print head at the front part of the printer in order to facilitate fixing of the print head. The base member has an open bottom part for containing a removable combination I/O tray cassette which is removed upon occurrence of sheet jam to provide a user access on the front side. A channel member fixed to the base member defines a sheet passage to a print zone. A U-shaped cutout of the channel member provides an access to the sheet passage and facilitates unjamming of sheet when the printer is stacked on other electronic apparatus.
