PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas separation membrane capable of separating gases in high efficiency when a gaseous mixture of relatively low pressure is supplied to a gas separation membrane module, to provide an economical gas separating method having only small adverse affects on the durability of the gas separation membrane module and, in particular, to provide a dehydrating method of a water-organic material solution which is economical, has only a small adverse effects on the durability of the gas separation membrane module and which can yield organic material vapor reduced in steam content by selectively separating the steam from the gaseous mixture obtained by vaporizing a solution containing water and organic material. SOLUTION: The highly efficient and economical gas separation is attained by supplying a gaseous mixture heated to a high temperature to the inside of a hollow fiber of a supply gas/carrier gas counter flow type gas separation membrane module having a specified structure at <=5.0 kg/cm2 pressure and performing gas separation in a state in which the pressure of the outside (permeation side) is reduced to 1-500 mmHg.
