PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent composition which improves phase transition temperature from a liquid phase of a detergent to its solid phase (including a semisolid state) so as to become a relatively low temperature ranges in the vicinity of a room temperature without lowering excellent detergency and foaming strength that the detergent (soap) comprising salts of lauric acid as principal components has. SOLUTION: The detergent composition comprises compounding 5-20 wt.% of a carbohydrate such as e.g. sucrose as a modifier of the phase transition temperature of the detergent for rising thereof, or of an alcohol such as e.g. ethanol as the modifier of the phase transition temperature for downing thereof into a detergent haring compounted 5-60 wt.% alkali metal salt such as potasium salt or sodium salt of lauric acid.
