PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable composition comprising ash and a polymer component; a coating material prepared therefrom; and building materials prepared from the coating material and capable of having flexibility, dimensional stability, weather resistance, lightweightness, sound insulation properties, thermal insulation properties, flame retardance, etc. SOLUTION: The composition comprises ash and a polymer component. The coating material further contains water. A coated materials is also provided which is prepared by applying or laminating the coating material to at least one side of a substrate.
