PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mortar composition in which the viscosity of a material is increased instead that flexural strength of the material is improved, paying attention on practical applicability, and a method of manufacturing the same, and thus to reduce the generation of cracks on the surface of a mortar-applied wall. SOLUTION: The mortar composition is composed of a cement, fine aggregates, water and an acrylic and/or nylon fiber, and the content of the fiber is 0.010-0.014 wt.% based on the total of the cement and the aggregates. Preferably, the lengths and the diameters of the fiber are 4-10 mm and 1-5 deniers, respectively, and the content of the water is 0.48-0.56 wt.% based on the total of the cement and the aggregates. An AE water reducing agent may be added for mixing the fiber, and a foam inhibitor may be added as required.
