PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation plate type centrifugal separator which is capable of precisely regulating an opening degree of a valve cylinder at partial discharge and hardly gives rise to the unbalance of a rotating body during rotation. SOLUTION: This separation plate type centrifugal separator 1 is mounted with the separation plates laminated in a multiplicity in the axial direction of a guide cylinder within the rotating body, is introduced with a raw liquid from the guide cylinder into a separation chamber, separates sludge by centrifugal force and discharges the sludge to the outside by activating the valve cylinder mounted within the rotating body 3 in the axial direction with working water, thereby opening and closing a sludge discharge port. A revolving shaft 2 in the lower part of a large-diameter column section 3b of the rotating body 3 is provided with respectively at least >=1 pair of partial discharge mechanism 6 and total discharge mechanism 7 for sludge discharge in positions symmetrical with the shaft.
