PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label printer or the like, capable of preventing jamming of a base paper or a label, which has been set obliquely. SOLUTION: Two detection sensors 17 are fixed and disposed in a row along the conveyance direction of a base paper 13 on the inner surface of a guide 16 of a label printer 10. A judging part 25A of a CPU 25 judges whether or not the base paper 13 is set parallel to the guide 16 based on a combination of electric signals supplied from the two detection sensors 17.
