The invention concerns a machining tool comprising a tool body (2) whereon is fixed at least a cartridge (17) bearing a cutting element (18), a screw (4) extending along the axis of said tool body (2) and comprising a screw head (9) accessible from a frontal orifice (15) provided on the tool body (2), a partly threaded median portion (8) and a threaded rod (10), longitudinal locking means (5, 7) preventing the screw (4) from moving longitudinally relative to the tool body (2), friction means rotating the screw relative to the tool (2), a mobile unit (20) capable of being screwed on the threaded rod (10), and transmission means (3, 6, 11) between said mobile unit (20) and each of said cartridges (17) such that the axial displacement of the mobile unit (20) results in a wear compensating displacement of the cartridge part (17) bearing the cutting element (18). The invention is useful for providing automatic tool wear compensation. |
