A touch panel that is not deformed even when temperature changes and has improved attachability to a display or a display unit and replaceability. The touch panel has a glass base (1) and is integral with a frame (8) attachable to a display unit. Information on the coordinates of the touch position can be measured. The difference of linear expansion coefficient between the glass base and the frame is 0-5x10<-5>/ DEG C. The frame is made of a molding material mainly composed of plastic. To acquire information on the coordinates of the touch position by using an elastic wave, the touch panel includes, on the glass base, a transmitting element (2(2X, 2Y)) for transmitting an elastic wave, a first elastic wave reflection array (3(3X, 3Y)) for reflecting the elastic wave parallel to the X- and Y-axes, a second reflection array (4(4X, 4Y)) for directing the elastic wave propagated along the X and Y axes to a receiving element (5(5X, 5Y)). These functional components can be covered and protected by the frame. |
