DRIVING CIRCUIT FOR LIGHT EMITTING THYRISTOR ARRAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that a method or a circuit for efficiently driving a light emitting thyristor array made in a block by a few external elements is not known and to provide a driving circuit for an optical printer capable of driving the light emitting thyristor array by wiring patterns of which the number is markedly smaller than that in a conventional LED array. SOLUTION: A gate selecting line 7 of the light emitting array 100 made in the block 10 is connected to an output terminal 22 of a decoder 8. A current source 4 and anodes or cathodes of the light emitting thyristors in each of blocks 10-1, 10-2, 10-3, ... are connected to a memory all together and then the light emitting array 100 is driven.
