PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high speed banding. SOLUTION: A write command for one page is delivered to a spool means 1032 where it is converted into an intermediate language and stored in a PDF file 1041. At the same time, a precheck means 1033 determines effective write area information and an optical writing means which are stored in a PCF file 1042. A band list generating means 1044 notifies an optical writing method to a writing means 1047 based on the contact of the precheck means and a writing means returns the size of the area of a band memory by an optical writing method. A generating means 1044 determines band division information based on the area of the band memory and the effective write area information and generates a band list 1045 by searching the PDF file 1041. According to the band list, a band regenerating means 1046 regenerates a write instruction stored in the PDF file 1041. The writing means 1047 writes the write instruction in a band memory 1048.
