<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the processing time in two section binding mode. SOLUTION: When the rear end side and the right and left end sides of sheet bundles accumulated on an intermediate processing tray 130 are aligned by a rear end stopper part 131 and side stoppers 141, 142, respectively, and a predetermined position in the direction of width on the rear end side of the sheet bundles is bound in two sections, the side stoppers 141, 142 are simultaneously moved in the direction opposite to the direction in which a stapler 101 moves toward a second section when the second section is bound after the first section is bound by the stapler 101 to move the sheet bundle by a predetermined amount L1 in the direction of width. Consequently, a required travel amount L2 of the stapler 101 is shorted by the travel amount L1 of the sheet bundle for a binding pitch L of the sheet bundle.</p> |
