PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove the mist of edible oil from the exhaust from a kitchen in which a large quantity of the mist and steam is mixed and to prevent the occurrence of a septic malodor. SOLUTION: This device deodorizes the exhaust from the kitchen 2, and it has a filter 10 installed in a duct 6 through which the air including the exhaust passes. The support of the filter 10 has vent holes having the average diameter of 4 mm or above. The support has a mixture of a hydrous magnesium silicate mineral including at least sepiolite or palygorskite and calcium hydroxide.
