PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recorder in which photographic image data can be printed easily and surely on a sheet having the same size of width both with and without left/right margins while reducing the image data part being discarded to the outside of the left and right margins. SOLUTION: At the parts of a platen corresponding to the left/right sides of one kind or more of recording medium having a predetermined size being carried on the platen in the subscanning direction, ink receiving holes are formed to project outward from the left/right sides. A control section has first operation mode for executing recording operation while developing record data in a recording areas on the inside of the left/right sides for each recording medium having a predetermined size, and second operation mode for executing recording operation while developing the same record data in a recording areas on the outside of the left/right sides of a recording medium of the same size but on the inside of the outer edge of the ink receiving holes. |
