METHOD FOR PRODUCING FORMED PRODUCT MADE OF DIATOMACEOUS EARTH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve formability and stiffness of a formed product made of a diatomaceous earth. SOLUTION: A soil containing a clay ingredient is added to the powder or the granule of diatomaceous earth as a binder is a moderate amount. A sand containing moderate moisture is mixed therewith and the obtained material is formed to a prescribed shape. The moisture in the sand is gasified at a high temperature and diffused by burning the formed product in a mold at 900 deg.C for 5-20 min and the formed product is then expanded and densified by the diffusion force.
