PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a method of driving the plasma display panel are provided, improves contrast of PDP by preventing contrast deterioration due to a minute light. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel includes a black stripe(75), the first and second inner electrodes(Ty,Tz), and the first and second discharge sustain electrodes(Sy,Sz). The black stripe is formed on the center of the back side of a substrate constructing the top plate of the panel by discharge cells in order to block minute luminescence that is generated when reset discharge is performed. The first and second inner electrodes are formed on the back of the black stripe having a predetermined distance from each other, generates the reset discharge in response to a reset pulse, and creates address discharge together with a data electrode according to a scanning pulse applied to the inner electrodes. The first and second discharge sustain electrodes generate sustain discharge according to a high-voltage AC pulse alternately applied to the two discharge sustain electrodes. |
