DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETECTING ABNORMALITY

PURPOSE: A device and a method for detecting abnormality are provided which accurately detect such abnormality as that someone is fallen over in a room such as a bathroom and a toilet. CONSTITUTION: In an abnormality detection device(9) detecting the abnormality when something is wrong with an object to be observed in a room, the abnormality device comprises a camera means(8) taking a picture of images inside the room; a distinctive feature abstraction means abstracting distinctive picture features from the images taken picture of by the camera means; and a judgement means judging whether something is wrong with an object to be observed in a room or not based on the change over time of the distinctive picture features abstracted by the distinctive feature abstraction means. The abnormality detection method comprises a first step of taking a picture of images inside the room with a camera means; a second step of abstracting distinctive picture features from the images taken picture of in the first step; and a third step of judging whether something is wrong with an object to be observed in a room or not based on the change over time of the distinctive picture features abstracted in the second step.
