PURPOSE: To arbitrarily and finely set a desired conduction duration by the unit of time without causing any trouble in a transformer. CONSTITUTION: First, the number of cycles R at a fundamental frequency < SET > F (Hz) for a set conduction duration Tw (ms) is found as a real value. The number of cycles R equals to how many times one wave cycle of the fundamental frequency < SET > F is repeated in the set conduction duration Tw and so R can be calculated by an expression Twx < SET > F (step B1). Then, the minimum integer Min£N| which is not smaller than R is determined as a set value Ns for the number of AC waveform cycles for the set conduction duration Tw (step B2). Next, a set frequency Fs (Hz) and a period Ts (ms) are found for the set conduction duration Tw from the determined Ns. The values for Fs and TS can be calculated by expressions Fs=1/Ts, Ts=Tw/Ns, respectively (step B3). The values for the set frequency Fs and the set number of cycles Fs are stored in a memory and, at the same time, displayed on a set screen (step B4).
