PURPOSE: A hangul input method for a terminal is provided to allocate 6 Hangul short consonants in constant keys according to a Hangul writing sequence, allocate similar short vowels classified as 6 in 3 vowel keys, and display consonants and vowels which are not allocated according to the Hangul writing sequence by the combination of consonant keys and vowel keys. CONSTITUTION: 6 Hangul short consonants(kieok,nieun,lieul,mieum,siok,ieung) are allocated in digit keys(1,2,4,5,7,8), respectively. 6 short vowels are classified by similar short vowels(a,eo,o,u,eu,i) and 3 vowel keys are allocated in digit keys(3,6,9). The Hangul short consonant(kieok) is allocated in the digit key(1), and the Hangul short consonant(nieun) is allocated in the digit key(2). The Hangul short consonant(lieul) is allocated in the digit key(4), and the Hangul short consonant(mieum) is allocated in the digit key(5). The Hangul short consonant(siok) is allocated in the digit key(7), and the Hangul short consonant(ieung) is allocated in the digit key(8). A corresponding short consonant is displayed on a liquid crystal display unit according to the input of the consonant keys. The similar short vowels(a,eo) are allocated in the digit key(3), and the similar short vowels(o,u) are allocated in the digit key(6) and the similar short vowels(eu,i) are allocated in the digit key(9). A specific short vowel is selected by the number of input of the vowel keys and the selected short vowel is displayed on the liquid crystal display unit.
