PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process cartridge and its packaging member which can prevent rewriting of information stored in a storage means is prevented under the condition where packaged during transportation, and to provide a packaging structure of the process cartridge which can prevent rewriting of information stored in the storage means during transportation of the process cartridge, and moreover enables access easily to a communication means from the outside. SOLUTION: The process cartridge 2 is packaged with the packaging member 30 using a material having a shielding effect for preventing rewriting of prescribed information stored in a storage means 26 in response to the influence of an external magnetic field during transportation of the process cartridge 2. In order to enable access from the outside to the communication means during transportation of the process cartridge, a material without shielding effect or a shielding effect weaker than the above shielding effect is used for the packaging member.
