PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chemical analyzer capable of more efficiently agitating/ mixing a sample with a reagent and completely preventing their carry-over. SOLUTION: This chemical analyzer is provided with piezoelectric elements 205, 206 each forming a split electrode and emitting sound wave toward a reaction vessel 201 so as to cover a liquid surface 208 in its progressing direction and on its extension and so that the sound wave has a component coming into the liquid surface in parallel thereto or at an angle thereto. This causes a liquid portion adjoining the liquid surface to flow efficiently, thus agitating/ mixing the agitated materials in a noncontacting manner.
