PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller with improved braking characteristics which is, if power supply is interrupted, capable of swiftly stopping the motor with reliability, by adding a simple external circuit to a conventional servo drive circuit. SOLUTION: The motor controller drives the motor 3 by alternating-current power obtained by filtering power obtained by converting power from an alternating-current power supply 1a into direct-current power through a first capacitor 42, and converting the filtered direct-current power by on/off- controlling the switching element of an inverter portion 43 through a control circuit 44. The controller is provided with a second capacitor 11 which is parallel-connected with the input of the control power circuit 45 of the control circuit 44 and is supplied with current from the first capacitor 42, a diode 10 which prevent countercurrent from the second capacitor 11 to the first capacitor 42, and a control signal circuit 7b which, if the voltage of the alternating-current power supply 1a falls below specified, causes the control circuit 44 to exercise on/off control on the switching element for dynamic braking. |
