PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bottom sampling strainer for a submergible pump requiring no agitating blade and pressure water injection for gathering sand and soft mud accumulated on a water bottom surface by using the submergible pump. SOLUTION: In bottom sampling equipment for enabling this submergible pump to travel and move by placing the submergible pump on a crane arranged on a pontoon or a water tank so as to be freely liftable, the strainer provided on the suction end of the submergible pump is connected by a suction pipe adjusted to a suction diameter. The suction pipe lower end adjusted to the excavating depth is slantingly expanded in an umbrella shape to be constituted so as to form an acute angle with a bottom plate arranged in the shape of covering an opening bottom surface. The outer peripheral edge is formed so as to become an excavating blade. Openings are bored in large numbers over the whole periphery on an umbrella-shaped inclined face leaving an excavating blade part of the outer peripheral edge. A large number of openings are bored in an inner peripheral surface leaving the excavating blade part of the outer peripheral edge in the bottom plate to open the area required for sucking water and mud.
