PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk having two information recording surfaces for recording consecutive information signals and an optical disk reproducing device. SOLUTION: In the optical disk having the opposed information recording surfaces (a) and (b), digital information, where an information quantity is compressed by encoding, is recorded toward an outer periphery from an inner periphery on one surface (a) and is recorded toward the inner periphery from the outer periphery on the other surface (b) and pieces of information recorded at the outer most peripheries of both of the information recording surfaces are continued. Further, the reproducing device is provided with a single optical head 10, a memory 15 for storing a reproduced signal, a reproduced surface identifying device 13 for identifying a reproduced surface, etc., a decoder 16 and an optical head controller 11 for switching the focusing surface of the head 10 to reproduce information by switching the focusing surface of the optical head to the information recording surface of the other after reproducing information to the outermost periphery or the innermost periphery of one information recording surface. |
