PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process cartridge enabling judging of a communication error with an electrophotographic image forming apparatus body with good precision, and to provide an electrophotographic image forming apparatus enabling judging of a communication error with the process cartridge with good precision. SOLUTION: The process cartridge 43 has a cartridge communication means 61. An apparatus body control means 2 obtains a communication success rate form the number of times of communication and communication errors with an apparatus body communication means 4. The cartridge communication means 61 judges whether or not to set a communication error on the basis of the communication success rate. The electrophotographic image forming device A has the communication means 4 and the control means 2. The control means 2 controls the communication means 4 to make it perform communication with the cartridge communication means 61 multiple times, and obtains the communication success rate from the number of times of communication and communication errors with the cartridge communication means 61 by the main body communication means 4. The control means 2 judges whether or not to set a communication error, based on the communication success rate. |
