PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply unit capable of sufficiently following output voltage variations generated in response to input voltage variations caused by the rotational variations of an engine. SOLUTION: A difference between a reference sinewave outputted from a reference sinewave output circuit 13 and output voltage detected by an output voltage detecting circuit 5 is taken by a comparator 21 and outputted to an amplitude control circuit 12. A control signal for controlling the amplitude of a target wave to be outputted by a target wave outputting circuit 14 is generated by the amplitude control circuit 12 in response to the difference and a control function which is calculated and outputted, and the target wave is outputted from the target wave outputting circuit 14 in response to the control signal. The target wave is compared with the detected voltage from an output voltage detecting circuit 5 by a comparator 16, and if the voltage of the target wave is higher than the detected voltage, a positive gate controller 15a is selected so as to be operated.
