PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an irreversible circuit element and a communication device which can prevent a component from moving, when mounted on a printed board, etc., and suppress characteristic variations. SOLUTION: Poles 41 are provided in the four corners of a resin-made terminal case 13. As the terminal of the terminal case 13, for example, thermoplastic resin (liquid-crystal polymer, etc.), is used which has a fusion-point or thermal deformation temperature higher than 260 deg.C. The head parts of the poles 41, provided in the four corners of the resin-made terminal case 13, are heated and fused or softened to thermally deform into engagement parts 42 which engage hook-shaped projection parts 31, provided to a metallic upper case part 15. Consequently, a lower case part 12 and the upper case part 15 are fixed tightly to the resin-made terminal case 13.
