PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a beam to be deflected, without making a headlight compli cated. SOLUTION: The headlight for motorcars contains a light source S that interacts with a mirror M so as to generate a radiating beam. Further equipped with this headlight for motorcars is an optical assembly E0 inserted in a part of the optical path of radiating light that separates the mirror, this optical assembly E0 has the first and second optical deflecting elements 10 and 20, respectively, these first and second optical deflecting elements 10, 20 can selectively occupy either the first relative position that the part of the radiation continuously crosses these optical elements or the second relative position that two separate portions of the radiation cross each of the optical elements, so that two light beams with different radiating properties can be obtained selectively. This can be applied to conduct special illumination, without having to increase the number of headlights. |
