PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device that can pick up an object having a wide luminance range from a high luminance to a low luminance with high accuracy and has excellent response where each pixel even in a low luminance area is reset to an original state at a high-speed. SOLUTION: When each pixel makes an image pickup operation, a MOS transistor(TR) T1 is turned on and a MOS TR T5 is turned off to activate a MOS TR T2 in a sub-threshold area. When each pixel is reset, the MOS TR T1 is turned off and the MOS TR T5 is turned on to give a prescribed voltage to a gate and a drain of the MOS TR T2. After the MOS TR T5 is turned off, and once a voltage of a connection node (a) is reset, a pulse signalϕV is given to a MOS TR T4, from which an output is obtained. Dispersion in the sensitively among the pixels, can be suppressed by using the output for correction data.
