PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material excellent in evenness in density after development, conveyability in heat development and dot quality and having high Dmax and high contrast. SOLUTION: When the heat developable photosensitive material with a photosensitive layer containing an organic silver salt, silver halide, a binder, a reducing agent and a contrast enhancer on one face of the base and a back coat layer on the other face is heat-treated at 120 deg.C for 1 min and at 135 deg.C for 1 min, the difference in the rate of thermal dimensional change in the longitudinal direction is 0.001-0.010% and that in the transverse direction is 0.001-0.020%.
