PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic photographing system which is capable of automatically photographing a photographing object by automatically releasing a universal camera at the timing meeting the movement of the photographing object and a release device for the camera capable of inexpensively building the system. SOLUTION: The remote control release device 20 is capable of releasing a universal digital still camera 10 for photographing a player P1 from the outside and is connected by a cable 2 connected to a release terminal of the camera. The release device is provided with an IR sensor for detecting the presence of the player and a sound wave detecting sensor for detecting the sound waves of the moment of impact. A release signal is outputted to the camera when the sound is detected after the player is detected. As a result, the automatic photographing is made possible without manpower even if the universal camera is used.
