PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery that has excellent self fire-extinguishing and fire retardancy and deterioration resistance and that has low surface resistance of the non-aqueous electrolyte and low internal resistance as well as excellent low temperature discharging characteristics, while keeping the battery properties such as the capacity necessary for a battery. SOLUTION: The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, supporting salt, and a non-aqueous electrolyte containing a phosphagen derivative of the dielectric constant of lithium salt solution (0.5 mol/1) of 2.0 mS/cm. It is a desirable state and manner that phosphagen derivative having at least 4.0 mS/cm of dielectric constant of lithium solution (0.5 mol/1) is contained, and that the flash point of the phosphagen derivative is more than 100 deg.C and, further, that the phosphagen derivative contains a substituent containing halogen element in its molecure structule, and further that the non-aqueous electrolyte contains non-protogenic solvent in it. |
