PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely distribute book data to a user through a computer network. SOLUTION: Computers of a management center 10 and user terminals 12 and 16 to 24 are connected through a network. A server computer of the management center 10 is stored with book data on magazine articles supplied from a publishing company 28, etc., duplicate the stored book data at a request to distribute the book data from a terminal, and further adds data characteristic of the user to generate data to be distributed. The data to be distributed are stored in a directory allocated to the user (member). When the user makes a request for downloading, the server computer reads the data to be distributed out of the member directory and sends the data to the terminal. The data to be distributed can be stored in the member directory only for a certain period. |
