ACTIVE/STANDBY SWITCHING DEVICE FOR DIGITAL BROADCASTING SENDING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly switch active and standby digital broadcasting signals. SOLUTION: Active and standby sending devices 11 and 12 mutually independently generate the same program information signals (MPEG2 transport stream packets). An active/standby switching device 13 respectively inputs these active and standby program information signals to buffers 131 and 132 and sequentially holds the prescribed number of packets, the respective held packets are identified by packet identifying parts 133 and 134, and the identified result is reported to a timing control part 136. Corresponding to an active/standby switching trigger signal, the timing control part 136 compares the contents of respective packets, the read starting position of the buffer 132 is changed to the packet, which can be switched with the active packet held in the buffer, and after phase control, a changeover switch 135 is switched and controlled from the active system to the standby system.
