PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser diode module capable of suppressing the lowering of efficiency in optical coupling between a laser diode and an optical fiber, within an allowable range even under a high temperature environment. SOLUTION: The laser diode module is constituted such that a base 2 mounted with a laser diode 1 is joined to the base plate 4a of a package 4 directly or through a thermoelectric cooling element 3 and that an optical fiber 5 is optically coupled to the laser diode 1. A difference of linear expansion coefficient is set to 1.0×10-6/ deg.C or below between the material of the base plate 4a of the package 4, as one part, and the base 2 or the substrates 3a, 3b of the thermoelectric cooling element 3 connectable to the base plate 4a, as the other part.
