PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubidium atom oscillator whose power consumption is reduced. SOLUTION: The oscillator is provided with a lamp part 1 emitting pumping light, with a case 2 including an oscillation circuit part 6 which generates a microwave and is constituted of a chip capacitor and a transistor, a gas cell 3 to which rubidium gas is charged, a light detection part 4 detecting lamp light passing through the gas cell and a dielectric resonator 5 which is magnetically connected with the microwave from the oscillation circuit part 6 and which oscillates and with a frequency control circuit 10 controlling the frequency of the microwave, which the oscillation circuit part generates by the change of the light intensity of the lamp light. The oscillation circuit part 6 is constituted of a chip capacitor and a transistor. Thus, power consumption can be reduced to about 1/100 compared to a conventional rubidium atom oscillator where the frequency is multiplied by using the transformer since power that the elements consume is 10 mA to 40 mA.
