PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which does not waste energy, has fixing rollers with prolonged service life and exhibits a good fixing performance from immediately after the start of image forming when a standly state is seleased, and to provide a digital color copying machine equipped with the fixing device. SOLUTION: The fixing device is equipped with an oil application roller temperature detector 62 for detecting the surface temperature of oil application roller 48g rotated by contacting with an upper side fixing roller 48, a fixing control part 60 for controlling the start timing of image forming on the basis of the detected surface temperature of the oil application roller, and a fixing roller temperature detector for detecting the surface temperature of the fixing roller. When the surface temperature of the oil application roller is lower than 100 deg.C, while performing heating by a heater in the fixing roller simultaneously with the occurrence of the starting signal of image forming irrespective of the surface temperature of the fixing roller, control for delaying the start timing of image forming by the fixing control part is performed expecting the time when the surface temperature of the fixing roller recovers a usual fixing temperature. |
