PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferrule having an expanded shoulder for improving positioning accuracy and to provide an optical fiber connector housing. SOLUTION: The ferrule 20 is provided with a shaft 24 and an expanded rear part 26 having the cross section larger than that of the shaft, with a shoulder 28 formed between the two 24, 26. A part of the shaft near the expanded rear part has curved corners and, correspondingly, the shoulder has curved inner corners. The optical fiber connector housing also has shoulders with curved corners. The connector housing is provided with a front segment having a longitudinal passage and with a rear segment having a longitudinal passage and the cross section larger than that of the front segment, while a shoulder is formed between the two segments. Since the shoulder 28 with the curved corners is provided, the optical fiber connector of this invention enables the ferrule 20 to float in an inner cavity in the connector housing without being disengaged or tilted.
