PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device having a configuration in which heat quantity for fixing in respect of a recording medium is controlled according to the kind of the recording medium introduced in a fixing device, and the offset is exactly prevented according to the kind of the recording medium. SOLUTION: In the fixing device equipped with heating roller 12A which can abut on a toner image carried on the recording medium, and a pressure roller 12B which is opposite to and abuts on the heating roller 12A, the heating roller 12A and the pressure roller 12B are set in the configuration 17 in which the clamping pressure to the recording medium can be changed according to the kind of the recording medium.
