PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly send/receive diversified information sets, through the use of a plurality of systems of communication channels. SOLUTION: In the case of sending information entered by a data entry section 2 or a voice entry section 3, a data conversion section 7 receives voice or non-voice data and converts the format of the data into information format corresponding to the communication channel system used by a communication processing section 6 for the communication. Furthermore, in the case of receiving information from a destination via the communication channel, the communication processing section 6 demodulates the data sent via the communication channel and sends the demodulated data to the data conversion section 7. The data conversion section 7 converts the data received from the communication processing section 6 into voice data or non-voice data. The voice thus obtained is outputted to an external device by a voice output section 4. Furthermore, the non-voice data are sent to a display section 5, for example, and the display section 5 can display an image in response to the received non-voice data.
