PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera provided with a mode dial and a cross key in compact structure. SOLUTION: The mode dial 310 is provided almost horizontally on the upper surface of a housing, and also made to turn among three stop positions to select any of three modes, and a mode switch substrate 320 having two switches detecting the three modes by the stop positions of the mode dial 310 is installed almost perpendicularly to the dial 310 inside the housing.
