PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the construction method of a large cross sectional tunnel capable of efficiently carrying out the construction method of the large cross sectional tunnel even in a narrow jobsite, the guide structure of a small cross sectional tunnel and a pipe jacking machine. SOLUTION: The construction method of the large cross sectional tunnel includes a first installing process for installing a first tunnel 1a assigned in the cross sectional area of the large cross sectional tunnel 2 constructed by the pipe jacking machine, a second additionally providing process for additionally providing a second small cross sectional tunnel 1 and thereafter assigned to the small sectional tunnel 1 in the cross sectional area of the large cross sectional tunnel to the small cross sectional tunnel 1 installed in the first installing process and the second installing process, a partial integrating process for integrating it by mutually joining parts (mainly providing material 11a) concerned with the structure of the large cross sectional tunnel 2 out of the small cross sectional tunnels 1 installed in the first installing process and the second additionally providing process, and a partial removal process for removing a part (temporary providing material 11b) not concerned with the structure of the large cross sectional tunnel 2 out of the small cross sectional tunnels 1.
