PURPOSE: A method for mutual control of an ECU(Engine Control Unit) with a TCU(Transmission Control Unit) via a data bus in speed reduction is provided to prevent the occurrence of a shock by sequentially controlling fuel disconnection after a damper clutch is released for speed reduction. CONSTITUTION: A method for mutual control of an ECU with a TCU comprises the steps of deciding the switch-on of an idle switch and engine RPM(S10), checking the operational state of a damper clutch of an automatic transmission(S20), transmitting a low damper clutch signal to an ECU if the damper clutch is operated(S30), transmitting a damper clutch signal to the ECU and releasing the damper clutch if the damper clutch is not operated(S31), the ECU reading damper clutch information(S40), the ECU controlling fuel disconnection if the damper clutch is released(S50), and controlling fuel disconnection after 20msec if the damper clutch is not released(S51).
