摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode capable of constituting a lithium secondary battery having high energy density and superior durability, by solving the problems on a lithium secondary battery using a carbon material as a negative electrode active material, which are retention, cycling deterioration and capacity decreases during high-temperature storage. SOLUTION: The carbon material as a main active material and a lithium- titanium combined oxide represented by a composition formula LixTiyO4 (0.5 <=x<=3, 1<=y<=2.5), as a subsidiary active material are used as active materials to form the negative electrode for the lithium secondary battery. Namely, the lithium-titanium oxide is subsidiarily added to the carbon material to form the negative electrode active material which is used to form the negative electrode.
