PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color cathode-ray tube that has an increased Q value by integral multiples to improve the production yield and quality of the cathode- ray tube, while materializing the same resolution as existing cathode-ray tubes. SOLUTION: This color cathode-ray tube comprises a fluorescent-film screen which repeatedly forms a great number of the first, second and the third fluorescent-film stripes on the inner surface of the panel, an electron gun which emits the first, second and the third electron beams toward the fluorescent-film screen, and a shadow mask which is arranged in front of the fluorescent-film screen and has a great number of apertures for beam passage to separate the electron beams. The shadow mask is installed inside the panel so as to satisfy the equations Q1=nQ (n>=4) and 3S×Q=Mp×L. Here, Q1 is the interval between the shadow mask and the fluorescent-film screen, n is a natural number of 4 or more, excluding multiples of 3, and Q is the interval between the shadow mask and the fluorescent-film screen when three electron beams which have passed through one aperture for beam passage and make landing to a set of the first, second and third fluorescent-film stripes arranged in parallel.
