PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode for a lithium secondary battery capable of constituting the lithium secondary battery having low cost, high energy density, and superior cycling characteristics, in particular, cycling characteristics in high-temperature use by optimizing the type of an active material to be used and the density of the active material. SOLUTION: The positive electrode for the lithium secondary battery formed by binding an active material with a binder has an active material density (the weight of the active material existing in a unit volume of the positive electrode) being 2.3 g/cm3 or more and 3 g/cm3 or less, using a layered rock-salt structure lithium-nickel combined oxide as the active material. |
