PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rationalize the order of two kinds of processing in accordance with a use of a processed picture in a picture processor which performs nonlinear picture processing and pixel density conversion processing in a prescribed order. SOLUTION: This processor is provided with a processing order control means 30 having a use information input means 31 which is used to input information MO related to the use of the processed picture, an order determination means 32 which determines the processing order of two kinds of picture processing in accordance with use information MO inputted through the use information input means 31, and switches 33, 34 and 35 which function as processing switching means which switch the processing order of a pixel density conversion means 21 and a nonlinear picture processing means 22 in the processing order determined by the order determination means 32. The order determination means 32 sets a control signal M to the low level in order to first perform pixel density conversion processing when giving priority to speed but sets the control signal M to the high level in order to first perform nonlinear picture processing when giving priority to picture quality. |
