PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a zoom lens barrel capable of preventing the deterioration of the optical performance of a photographing optical system caused by external force exerted on a lens barrel. SOLUTION: This zoom lens barrel is equipped with plural lens groups changing the focal distance of the photographing optical system; and a cam ring having an inner surface cam groove for guiding at least one lens group out of plural lens groups on its inner peripheral surface and moving the lens group in an optical axis direction while following the cam groove in accordance with rotation. The cam ring is constituted of a lens supporting ring part where the inner surface cam groove is formed, and an edge outer peripheral ring part consisting of a different member from the lens supporting ring part and supported on the outer periphery of the edge part of the lens supporting ring part so as to rotate together therewith in a rotating direction. The edge outer peripheral ring part is supported to have a clearance in the optical axis direction with the lens supporting ring part, and an energizing spring energizing and moving the edge outer peripheral ring part in the optical axis direction and bent when the external force acts on the edge outer peripheral ring part from the outside of the lens barrel is inserted in the clearance part in the optical axis direction between the edge outer peripheral ring part and the lens supporting ring part.
