PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which can sufficiently lessen the mirroring of external light, a back projection type display device and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The display device has optical films for antireflection affixed to both surfaces of a display panel surface via tacky adhesive layers and the method of manufacturing the same is provided. The back projection type display device which has a projection optical system, a display section for allowing the transmission of the light from the projection optical system made incident on the first surface and displaying images on the second surface and a base material 1 for protection of the display section disposed on the second surface side of the display section has at least one layer of the optical films 3 and 4 for antireflection affixed via the tacky adhesive layers to at least one surface of the base material 1 for protection and the method for manufacturing the same is provided.
