PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel that can prevent the interference of discharge between adjacent discharge cells and can stabilize the movements during an address period. SOLUTION: With respect to now electrodes Y which cause selective discharge determining light emission and non light-emission of discharge cells between column electrodes D, the width w2 of a bulky dielectric layer 2B hanging on one of the now electrodes Y is made to be smaller than the width w1 of the bulky dielectric layer 2B hanging on now electrodes X.
